HoloSapiens - the TCM "Food as Medicine" Project

Dryness relates to season autumn. Dryness consumes body fluids causing dry skin, dry lips, dry nose, dry throat, etc. Dryness enters the body through the skin, nose and mouth. As the nose and mouth are the orifices of the Lung, being in a dry environment for a long time may impair the Lung. Symptoms include dry cough and dry sputum.

The antidote to dryness is moisture. Foods that moisten dryness are eggs, cheese, milk, and sugar (in small amounts!).  Raw fruits and vegetables also have a moistening effect on the body. All these foods should not be consumed excessively or in long term as they may accumulate internal dampness.
